Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) has recently experienced several lawsuits involving its executives and employees.
Foxconn recently accused a senior vice president at its plants in Shenzhen, China of stealing 5,700 iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s samples and selling them to retail stores in China between July 2013 to December 2014, profiting nearly NT$50 million (US$1.57 million). The executive has already been charged with breach of trust.
The smartphones were testing samples that were supposed to be destroyed and not released to the market.
Meanwhile, Innolux, a subsidiary of Foxconn, is also planning to file lawsuits against 48 ex-employees headhunted by China-based Caihong Photoelectric, on concerns that the employees may leak critical information regarding Innolux's key technologies.
However, sources from the panel industry believe the headhunting is unlikely to have a major impact to Innolux since the China-based panel maker is already capable of building an 8.6G production line.
