China TV panel makers have conservative outlooks for the fourth quarter of 2015 due to price declines coupled with lagging consumer purchases, according to supply chain sources.
New subsidies issued by the China government for consumer purchases of energy-saving TVs will help drive TV purchases but only in limited quantities since most are reportedly no higher than CNY400 (US$63).
Oversupply still remains an issue for 32- and 55-inch Open Cell panels while price declines for the two sizes are strengthening. The two sizes may see price declines of over 10% in the fourth quarter of 2015 as a result of these trends, the sources said.
