There were 68.84 million large-size display panels shipped globally in August, increasing 9.3% on month, according to WitsView.
The shipments consisted of 23.61 million TV panels (up 3.6% on month), 12.37 million monitor panels (unchanged); 15.11 million notebook panels (up 11%), and 17.75 million tablet panels (up 25%).
For TV panels, Innolux and China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) in August shipped 3.808 million units(up 9% sequentially) and 3.07 million units (up 7.5%) respectively.
For notebook panels, Innolux shipped 3.53 million units in August, rising 16.1% on month, and BOE Technology shipped 3.49 million units, up 25.8%.
BOE shipped 3.1 million tablet panels in August, hiking 84.5% on month, while LG Display shipped 2.39 million units and HannStar Display shipped 1.38 million units, respectively growing 47.8% and 124.4%. White-box tablet vendors took up large proportion of BOE Technology's and HannStar Display's shipments.
In September, global shipments of TV and notebook panels will each shrink 1-2% on month and those of monitor and tablet applications will each decrease 3-4%.
