Backlight unit (BLU) maker Radiant Opto-Electronics has reported third-quarter 2016 gross margin of 18.03% a record high.

Thanks to booming shipments of BLUs for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Radiant Opto-Electronics had third-quarter consolidated revenues of NT$10.656 billion (US$338 million) rising 11.89% on quarter, gross margin of 18.03% hiking 8.3pp, net operating profit of NT$1.213 billion soaring 439.94% and net profit of NT$1.078 billion hiking 91.25%.

For January-September, Radiant Opto-Electronics posted consolidated revenues of NT$32.056 billion, gross margin 12.58%, net operating profit NT$1.951 billion, net profit NT$2.077 billion and net EPS NT$4.47.
